May 4, 2020 at 5:45 am #1140I don’t think we will be able to use Google One because we will need some firmware modifications for the Eink screen. But we can still stick very close to the basic version of Android beside the eink interface.
Lineage OS is a good idea that we have been thinking about. But european are mostly google users so having to install google service might be a no-go for lot of people. Though what we could do is incorporate nice features from Lineage. This needs some more thoughts.May 4, 2020 at 4:36 pm #1147But european are mostly google users so having to install google service might be a no-go for lot of people
What I understand is people are google users so they will need google services delivered with the final product.
But that’s the case with LineageOs. May be my message wasn’t enough undesrtandable, but if you want to get google on LineageOs, you must do it during the firmware installation process. After is too late. So this could be the default option (and the only one).
And because it is based on full LineageOs dist, people can still do their own installation (packages will be available), either on LineageOs’ support website or on OneDevice’s one !May 6, 2020 at 9:16 am #1154I think an open OS that could also be open source so developers can help if they want to
Definitely make the second screen (e-ink or whatever) usable as like the first displayMay 6, 2020 at 1:52 pm #1158Yes I’d like to have an open source software. Though I don’t know to what extent it will be possible.
